A family-owned company, Kent's history dates back to the early 1900s when the current President's grandfather immigrated to the United States and got a job working for the owner of a bike shop in New York. During the process of restoring old bike frames, a love for cycling was born, and in 1909, he opened his own bike shop on the Lower East Side of the city.

This small bike shop led to a larger store in New Jersey where the current President's father developed his own passion for the business. In 1947 he was inspired to start his own company (Philkam Cycle) supplying bikes and parts to stores all over the Eastern part of the United States.

In 1958, the company changed its name to Kent International and has been supplying Kent products to fun-loving parents and their children across the nation ever since.

This century-long history has given Kent an unrivaled understanding of the market. We use this understanding to supply you with the products you want before you even know you want them.
